Solder School is an eight-week program with new content modules dropping at the beginning of each week.
Please see Q&A section below for additional features + details.
The Apprentice tier is the base level and core learning of the Solder School Program.
For answers to questions about Solder School in general, please see the Q&A on the main Solder School page.
D&D, released in 2019, offers a quick look at some of the most common soldering techniques and includes approximately an hour of recorded material, Solder School is a comprehensive, deep-dive study of soldering from the ground up. Because of the extensive scope of information, Solder School is suitable for both experienced smiths as well as those just starting at the torch, whereas D&D assumed some prior knowledge was in place. Topics covered include safety and preparation, torch and fuel considerations, tool options and maintenance, cleanup and chemical management, and an increased demo library of specific soldering techniques as referenced in the Module Outline above.
All levels are welcome. The Apprentice tier is the core learning of the Solder School program. It includes all the pre-recorded demonstrations, discussions, guides, and resources needed to either get started on your soldering journey or drastically improve your results at the torch. This level focuses entirely on technique and is best suited for beginners and experienced jewelry makers who do not need and/or desire the added structure and support of live calls, mindset coaching, or access to additional online courses.
The Apprentice Tier includes 9 Core Learning Modules, each built of numerous lessons. A private SS Apprentice community is also offered through Facebook, which serves as a space for students to ask questions and share information. Apprentice-level participants have access to the course materials and Facebook group for one year after the program begins.
Modules are collections of related lessons. To maintain a steady learning pace, encourage active practice, and prevent overwhelm, modules are released on a weekly cadence. Each module may include any of the following formats: pre-recorded demonstrations and/or discussions, PDF guides, shopping resources, and interactive virtual tools. Please see the module outline above for a more detailed overview.
All Apprentice level students will be provided a link within the course to join this private community. Posts will be checked and questions answered once a day, Monday through Friday, during the eight weeks that new modules drop. After this "active" period concludes, instructor check-ins will continue to occur on a regular, though less frequent basis. The group will be archived on August 4, 2026, one year after the course start date.
Historically, online courses purchased through Rosy Revolver LTD have included lifetime* access; however, this approach has proven to attract many customers who never, in effect, make the time to learn and implement course material. In wanting to offer maximum flexibility and value to students, the indefinite structure has inadvertently enabled procrastination and perfectionistic behavior.
The goal of all Rosy Revolver courses to facilitate growth and progress... Pushing for that requires nudging students into action, which means incorporating a timeline. One year, even with life's unexpected twists and turns, provides sufficient time to complete this course and implement the learning... if it's a priority.
At the end of the program year, students who wish to continue accessing the trainings will have the option to shift to a monthly paid subscription model.
*Lifetime access denotes access for as long as Jess continues to offer online courses.
The promise of this program and the instructor is to actively support you in your learning, and it's understood that being able to ask questions is hugely important.
Students are encouraged to post any and all questions in the Solder School Apprentice group on Facebook, where questions and answers will benefit everyone.
Should Facebook not be an option, or if additional assistance is needed, students are invited to use the online calendar provided in the course portal to schedule a 20-minute Zoom consultation with Jess. This option does incur a separate, additional fee not included in the Solder School tuition rate.
Unfortunately, due to the number of students and the required time that thorough responses require, Jess is unable to provide answers to technical questions via individual email exchanges.
Emails should be sent for website and tech issues only.
Learn to solder with consistent success, technical clarity, and control.

You have nothing to lose by gaining proficiency in soldering!
When structural integrity becomes a guarantee instead of a gamble, space opens up: for bigger ideas, bolder designs, a clear artistic voice, and technical evolution.
Proficient soldering isn’t just about the join; it’s the foundation that feeds your creativity, fuels your confidence, and elevates your jewelry from handmade craft to high-value art.
Drill the skill, nail the sale. First-time buyers, discerning jewelry collectors, jury panels, boutiques and galleries are all far more likely to consider your work when the craftsmanship communicates technical quality and artistic perspective.
